Sample #1: 
Provide students with a print news article.  Ask them to identify any emotional language used.  Then, ask them to rewrite the article without using any emotional language.

Sample #2
Provide students with a print news article.  Ask them to identify any sources in the article (with an "S") and any evidence (with an "E") that those sources provide.  This exercise can lead to a discussion of research source evidence versus source analysis.
